Equivalency exam for exemption from English language classes (registration open from 18st September 2017 8.00am to 25th September 2017 8.00am)

Equivalency exam for exemption from German, Russian, French classes (registration open from 18st September 2017 8.00am to 25th September 2017 8.00am)

  1. Each student beginning to learn a foreign language at The Foreign Languages Centre has the right to take an eqivalency exam for exemption from a language classes.
  2. To enroll in an eqivalency exam, a student should register via the Internet at: https://rejestracje.umk.pl/
  3. To log on to the system, a students is required to set up an email account on University Computer Server via the following website: http://www.uci.umk.pl/studenci/konto/zakladanie/
  4. To register for an exam for exemption from language classes, a student is required to have tokens 30 LEK-2017/18L.
  5. If a student has already enrolled in the course group in The Foreign Languages Centre, s/he should withdraw from this group and enroll in an examination group.
  6. If a student does not obtain exemption from foreign language classes, s/he should withdraw from an exam group and enroll in a course group.

Equivalency exam for exemption from English classes will take place on 25 September 2017 in The Foreign Languages Centre, at 9.00am-10.30am

Equivalency exam for exemption from German, Russian, French classes will take place on 25th September 2017 in The Foreign Languages Centre, at 11.00am-12.30pm

PLEASE NOTE: Please check the hours and venue of the exam the day before the set date and arrive 15 minutes prior to the scheduled time of the exam to complete formalities and allow timely start of the exam.

Eqivalency exam for exemption from English classes takes place at B2+ level and lasts 120 minutes. 85% score allows exemption from English language classes. The student receives the highest grade ( 5 ), which is entered into the USOS as a final course grade. At the same, the student has the right to attend any other selected foreign language classes.

Structure of an equivalency exam for the exemption from English classes.

The equivalency exam for the exemption from English classes consists of two exercises which test listening comprehension (Listening Section), a section checking knowledge of grammatical structures (English in Use), a section meant to test reading comprehension (Reading Section) and tasks checking the ability to write texts in English.
